This painting depicts Lord Hanuman, who is an ardent devotee of Lord Rama. Here he is shown in his extraordinarily strong form. When Lakshman was wounded in the battle with Ravana and could only be cured by a particular herb medicine, Sanjivini Buti, found in the Himalayas, Lord Hanuman carried the whole mountain to bring Lakshman back to life.
